Hebridean Adventures supports HWDT as new charity partner

Hebridean Adventures wildlife watching vessel, Monadhliath.

We are excited to introduce you to our new partnership with Hebridean Adventures, to support our work protecting whales and dolphins on Scotland’s west coast.

Hebridean Adventures operate the former Norwegian rescue vessel the MV Hjalmar Bjørge from Oban which sleeps up to 12 guests. From here they cruise all around the Inner and Outer Hebrides, out west to St Kilda and northwards to North Rona and Sula Sgeir. These waters are a recognised hotspot for cetacean activity in Europe as well as being great for other wildlife like otters, seals, puffins, gannets, and white-tailed eagles. From sea to shore, Hebridean Adventures offer their own Scottish whale, dolphin, and wildlife-watching cruise itineraries, as well as running bespoke charters for other specialist tour operators and private groups. All feature shore excursions, excellent chef-prepared food, plus sheltered and remote overnight anchorages.

Our partnership with Hebridean Adventures is based on a shared passion for Hebridean seas and cetaceans, and the important role of biological recording and citizen science in conservation.

Hebridean Adventures have committed to making an annual donation to the Hebridean Whale and Dolphin Trust.

We are looking forward to working with Hebridean Adventures to raise awareness of Hebridean cetaceans and our conservation work with their guests. Their support will provide vital funds for our research and conservation programme and valuable sightings information from tours and cruises. It is fantastic to partner with an organisation that shares our values and passion for Hebridean seas and wildlife.
— Alison Lomax, HWDT Director

We have been working with Hebridean Adventures for a number of years through our Whale Track community sightings project. They contribute important excursion based sightings data from their tours and cruises each year; generating information for HWDT’s vital species monitoring, research and conservation work. Through this new partnership Hebridean Adventures will be working to raise awareness of HWDT’s work and encourage guests to get involved with our conservation projects.

We can’t wait to inform our cruise guests this season about the huge commitment and tremendous work that HWDT bring to helping cetaceans and the Scottish marine environment. They are at the forefront of scientific and conservation monitoring and research in our region and it is a delight therefore to be able to give something back to such a deserving organisation.
— David Lambie, Hebridean Adventures owner.

We want to thank Hebridean Adventures for their support!
