Calling all young marine conservationists!

Do you aspire to be a marine biologist? Does data collection in the field float your boat? Are you aged 16 or 17? Do you like adventure…

Our Teen Team Expedition Surveys are designed for you! This awesome live-aboard experience provides fundamental skills and hands-on experience in data collection, species identification and an understanding of how the data collected is applied to conservation efforts.

One of the best parts of the trip was being involved in data collection, gathering information that will actually be used in real life.

There are three Teen Team Expedition Surveys running during 2019:

  • 27th July - 2nd August, Tobermory rendezvous, remaining berth reduced to £745.25!

  • 5th - 11th August, Tobermory rendezvous, remaining berths reduced to £895.50!

  • 13th - 19th Oct, Tobermory rendezvous, £995 per person

All accommodation (on board Silurian) and food is included in the cost of participation.

The platform for the Expedition Surveys is Silurian, our 16 metre ketch sailing vessel which can accommodate 6 participants and 4 crew.  The area surveyed is the Hebrides – the islands found off the west coast of Scotland – each evening, after spending the day travelling between islands and collecting data, we anchor in a secluded bay and venture ashore to explore.

Living on a boat for a week is certainly different, but I have loved every single minute of it. This experience has solidified my decision to pursue marine biology and conservation as a career. I will never forget it.
