A trip to Tobermory is not complete without a visit to our Discovery Centre, now open for the season. Located on the iconic Main Street, there’s every reason to stop in and find out more about Hebridean whales, dolphins, porpoises and other local wildlife.

Once inside the centre, you’ll find lots of information, biofacts (whale teeth, baleen and bones) and interactive displays; with our friendly, knowledgeable team on hand to answer any questions you may have.
Details of recent sightings can be found and advice on where best to spot marine wildlife can be given. We also hire out binoculars to aid you on your mission to catch a sight of something exciting.
To support our conservation work we have a small gift shop, selling ethical, responsibly sourced merchandise and re-useable items you can purchase to reduce your environmental impact. We also have a re-filling station where people can bring empty bottles and fill up on environmentally-sound cleaning products. All profits from the shop feed into our conservation work, so all purchases made are supporting our vital work to better understand and protect whales and dolphins off Scotland’s west coast.
