Hebrides Cruises announced as HWDT's latest Corporate Partner
The Hebridean Whale and Dolphin Trust is delighted to announce a new corporate partnership with Hebrides Cruises.
Hebrides Cruises’ vessels Elizabeth G and Emma Jane
Hebrides Cruises is very pleased to support the work of HWDT by becoming a Corporate Partner. The Oban-based family-run company operates two luxury cruise vessels, Elizabeth G and Emma Jane (pictured above), each with a specialist Wildlife Guide on board. The Crews have an excellent record of sightings, which not only delights their guests, but provides an opportunity to educate and inspire guests to help to protect these amazing animals.

“We wholeheartedly support the important work HWDT do in terms of research and education for the conservation of whales, dolphins and porpoises in the waters off the west coast of Scotland. We have been working closely with HWDT for several years and were very pleased to help them develop the Whale Track app. Our crews and guests love to get involved in the collection of data and report cetaceans sightings from every cruise”

In 2015, HWDT ran a pilot project with Hebrides Cruises that highlighted the need for a more convenient way to record effort-based sightings, the result of which has been the Whale Track project, a convenient and easy way for all users to submit their sightings. Hebrides Cruises continue to submit their data to HWDT via the Whale Track app as one of our Data Contributors.
