WHY SIGN UP FOR THE COURSE?
This course is the WiSe Scheme professional standard.
Becoming an accredited WiSe operator is essential for your business as it shows prospective guests that you are responsible, committing to abide by laws and codes of conduct and acting in away that doesn’t cause disturbance.
The course is delivered online, taught by passionate and knowledgeable trainers and covers a variety of topics to help you offer a quality customer experience.

You can expect us to cover:

  • Instruction in how best to responsibly watch wildlife whilst minimising potential disturbance

  • Handling craft around wild animals

  • Codes of Conduct explained

  • Local and national laws in relation to wildlife

  • Information on commonly encountered species (cetaceans, basking sharks, seals, sea birds) with a focus on the west coast of Scotland.

  • Methods for biological recording - how citizen science can strengthen your business

Attendees who pay the single attendance fee and attend both sessions will:

  1. Become Standard WiSe accredited.

  2. Commit to abide by not only national and local laws on wildlife conservation and disturbance avoidance, but also the WiSe Scheme Codes of Conduct, in addition to any local wildlife-watching codes.

  3. Receive digital versions of the WiSe Codes of Conduct, a personalised certificate of attendance PDF, two waterproof WiSe Standard stickers for their boat/craft, a WiSe Scheme flag, plus electronic versions of the WiSe Standard logo for promotional materials if required.

  4. Be listed on our accredited WiSe operator pages (if you provide your details during registration for the course).

WiSe recommends that after three years, all accredited individuals at the Standard WiSe level then undertake a Master WiSe course to upgrade their level of membership.

If there are more than 3 registrants from one company, please contact info@wisescheme.org for a discount code prior to booking.
