ONLINE TRAINING: Whales and Watersports

WHALES AND WATERSPORTS

Do you love being out on the water? Do you SUP, kayak or wild swim? Ever seen a whale or dolphin while out exploring?

During the training, we will cover some top tips on how to watch safely when around whales, dolphins and porpoises on a paddle craft, and how you can report your sightings through Whale Track.

Whale Track is a community of citizen scientist who report their sightings of whales, dolphins and porpoises across Scotland, the long-term data collected provides the evidence needed to protect and restore the marine environment, and better understand the wide-scale impacts of the climate and biodiversity crises.

During the session we will cover:

  • how to report your sightings

  • what makes a good report

  • how to submit photographs

  • why your reports are important

  • top tips on wildlife watching while on the wate

  • ours and your whaley cool watersport encounters

  • a chance to ask questions and share your encounters
